Interested in Having Your Child Participate in a Trial for a New Vaccine?
This clinical research study is looking at the safety and effectiveness of an investigational treatment option for infants at risk for pneumococcal disease.
Would you like your child to take part?
As a volunteer in a research study, your child will receive medical care related to the study from the study doctor, and regular follow up to monitor the effectiveness of the care they receive. The results of this research will be used to find out if the experimental medication being studied will be of benefit to others or not. Study volunteers are an important part of moving medical care forward.
Your child may qualify to participate in this study if they are:
- Male or female born at ≥34 weeks of gestation and who are 2 months of age (≥42 to ≤98 days) at the time of consent (the day of birth is considered day of life 1)
- Healthy, determined by clinical assessment, including medical history and clinical judgment
Your child may not qualify to participate if they:
- Have previously been vaccinated with any licensed or investigational pneumococcal vaccine
- Have any major known congenital malformation or serious chronic disorder
There are other eligibility requirements that the study doctor will review. Only the study doctor can finally determine whether you are eligible to participate in the study or not.
